Greek Weeks Complete!

Well, I have survived my first three weeks of Greek. We finished on Friday with a diagnostic test to put us into classes. I think it went ok but I'll find that out on Mon. We now get to settle into a more reasonable amount of Greek. We have about 2-3hrs a week now instead of a day and we get to learn something other than Greek. Very Exciting!!

MAC is going well and I am starting to build some nice friendships. DAC (Dapto Anglican Church) is kicking along too.

Since I have been at college I have discovered there is such an hour as 6am. I have been getting up a couple of mornings a week to go for a run. It has been really quite good. It is killing me at the moment but I'm sure it will get easier as I get fitter. I start playing squash for Bondi Waverly in about a week in A3. I am really looking forward to that.

I pray that all is well in your lives.

Things so far...

The first week of college has been great but exhausting. So many people to meet, so many repetitive conversations to have and a whole bunch of Greek to learn. I am really enjoying Greek which is nice (let's see if I still feel like that in a few weeks time) and we were given our own Greek New Testaments on Friday which was very exciting!!

Things at MAC are good and I am slowly getting to know the girls better in my year. In two weeks time all the other girls from other years and all the uni girls will be moving in which will mean about 40-50 girls in the one place. That will be an interesting experience.

I have just come back from our 1st Years Orientastion Houseparty. It was a great time to get to know new people and to meet some of the guys wives. Again, it was pretty tiring but a fantastic weekend. Tomorrow we have a day off. Yeah!! I am so looking forward to a sleep in.

I pray that all of you are well and thanks for taking the time to read this and pray for me. I really appreciate it!

The Beginning...

Well, college has begun and I am still alive!! We have had plenty of orientation and a bit of Greek. Greek is kind of exciting at the moment which is nice. It involves lots of rote learning (which is good for me because I have a maths brain).

I am slowly settling in to MAC (Mary Andrews College - for single chicks). It will be bizzare living with so many girls but it has been nice getting to know people so far. At the moment there is only about 16 of us in the college all together but once the others years start and the uni girls get here there will be 40-50 girls. My room in on the 2nd floor and is quite big. I am still in the process of unpacking (knowing me that will take all year though). There are nearly 9 flights of stairs to my room which was painful while I was carrying all my stuff to my room when I moved in.

I have also started training with my new squash team and that is fun. They seem like a good group. Comp starts in March so that (along with the hundreds of stairs I walk everyday) should keep me fit.

On that note...The food here is fantastic!! Every time you turn around there is more food in front of you. You have to be really self disciplined (which I am slowly learning) and it's probably just as well they have so many stairs in this place to walk off all the food you eat. But I am loving the fact that I don't have to cook anymore and am enjoying the benefits of fantastic cooks.

Anyways, I'll keep you posted on my new life at college.
